富山からお友達が来ました。 Visitors from Toyama

お盆あたりだったので、少し前になりますが、富山からお友達が来ました。真ん中はモクマムです。

It was around mid-August, we have visitors from Toyama. They are our friend since when we were in Australia.

袋の中には、モクがいます。洗濯物ではありません。モクと一緒に寝るんだと言って、お姉ちゃんだけ一晩我が家に泊まりました。

Moku was in the bag, that was not the clothes to be washed. She really wants to be with Moku and stayed our home over night.

皆で、ライオンキングを観に行ったようです。
They went to see the musical, which was "The Lion King".

モクマムはミュージカルが好きで時たま観に行きます。
Mokumum likes watching musicals and sometimes go there.

私は、有名ギタリストが出てくるコンサートの方が好きですが。
Actually, I prefer rock concert, particularly with famous guitarist.

帰りに、池袋でラーメンを食べてきたようです。 残念なことに激辛ラーメンではありません。
After they enjoyed the musical, they had ramen at a ramen shop at Ikebukuro. That was not the super-spicy ramen, which I like.

モクはミュージカルを観に行けないので、お父さんとお留守番でした。写真は昨日(8月31日)撮ったものですが。

息子が、モクにサングラスを買ってきてくれました。この時の写真は 小さい方のブログにも載せました。（ほとんど同じ写真ですが）

Moku couldn't go musical and had to wait at his home with me. By the way, this photo was taken yesterday (31/08/2013). My son bought sunglasses for Moku and I posted another photo on another blog.

富山にも何回か遊びに行きました。スキーもできるし、食べるものも美味しくいいところです。

We have been to Toyama to visit our friend family 4 or 5 times. The foods are great, and also we can enjoy snow skiing there.

オーストラリア時代からのお友達で、毎年遊んでもらってます。そういえばオーストラリアでは、もうクリスマス商品がスーパーに並びだしたみたいです。この写真は、パース国際空港で昔の写真(2004年)ですが。

Almost every year, we get together even after we got back from Australia. Speaking of Australia, they already have Christmas stuff at chopping centres. This photo was taken at Perth International Airport at Christmas time, but long time ago (2004).

オーストラリアでは、クリスマスは１大イベントです。ずいぶん前からスーパーに商品が並びます。

そのくせ、クリスマスはほとんどのお店が閉まってしまい（今は違うかもしれませんが）、スーパーも、レストランも全部閉まってしまいました。開いていたのはガソリンスタンドくらい。

みんな仕事を休んで、家でのんびりするのはいいことでしょう。ボクシングデーとかで、12月26日もお休みでした。勤め先のコンピュータショップもクリスマス前から２週間くらいお休みだったので、毎年その間に日本に帰ってました。

街の飾りつけはクリスマスが終わってもそのままで、年が明けてからようやく片づけ始めてました。

ともかくクリスマス好きで、ずいぶん前ですが７月にペンバートン（西オーストラリアにあります）に行った時も７月のクリスマスとか言ってレストランにツリーがあったのを覚えてます。

オーストラリアのクリスマスは好きでしたが、ただ暑いのだけはヘンな感じでした。

Christmas is a very big event in Australia and they began to display the goods for Christmas 3 or 4 months before that. However, at Christmas day, almost all the shops were closed including restaurants. Only the shops, which was open on Christmas day was petrol stations. It was when we were in Australia, and it may different nowadays, but I am not sure.

Anyway, I think it is a good idea to take holidays most of the people and stayed their home with families. When I was working for a local computer shop, the shop was closed just before Christmas day until one week after the new year's day for around 2 weeks. Therefore, we went back to Japan every year at that time.

Australian people really like to enjoy Christmas and we saw a Christmas trees at a restaurant on July, when we've been to Pemberton. They call "Christmas in July".

It's quite different with Japanese Christmas time, but I prefer Australian one. Only thing I like that in Japan is the season. Australian Christmas was very hot.

BladeのJM-4、 Les Paul、Stratocaster

オーストラリアに渡る前、昔の職場に出入りしていた薬屋さんから買ったギター。たしか６万円でかいました。BladeのJM-4というギターらしいです。ジャズマスターのコピーみたいですが、実際はすいぶん違います。

１００％信用していたんで、値段の交渉とかもせず言われた値段で買いました。 いい買い物をしたと思います。

もう１０数年になりますが、ピックアップの切替は未だによく分かりません。

Ｉ've got this when I was in Japan, before move to Perth from the guy who came to my previous work place.
It was 60,000Yen and I didn't ask to reduce the price, because I believed the seller and I think it was a very nice price.

オーストラリアの楽器やさんです。ここでGibsonのLesPaulを子供に買いました。Georgeという店員さんがとてもおもしろい人で、よく通ってました。

いいやつでした。ここでは、このLesPaulのなかから一緒になって選んでくれました。こんなアンプではギターの良さがよく分からないとかで、やけにいいアンプにつないでくれたりして、あ～だのこ～だの言って、ずいぶん時間がかかりました。

当時、Laybyというシステムを知らず、ちょっとでもお金を払えば持ち帰れるのかと勘違いして、どうしてもすぐにほしかったので、仕方なく全額すぐに払った覚えがあります。

この楽器屋さんはスペース的に恵まれているので、日本のように、ちょっと揺らしただけで隣のギターにあたってしまうような置き方はしてありませんでした。

This is the photo I took Kosmic Sound in Perth. I bought Les Paul for my son from George, He was funny guy and me and son like him. He helped us to purchase guitars.
At that time, we didn't know what the Layby means and we expected to bring the goods even the layby goods. When we knew what the layby is, I paid all and brought LesPaul back to our home.

左は、息子が友達にもらったSquireのBulletストラトで友達の寄せ書きがしてあります。調子に乗って、私が弾いてしまったので一部メッセージがきえてしまいました。

右はお誕生プレゼントに無理して買ったGibsonのＬｅｓＰａｕｌです。高かったですが、一生物です。私も３０年以上前に買った、USA Fender Stratocasterを今も大事にしてます。

The left guitar was from Shinya's friends and got messages from them. However, because I played with the guitar, some message was disappeared.
The right one is the LasPaul, which I bought for the birthday present for my son.

パースで住んでいた家はスペースがあったんでギターを並べてました。時間のあるときはここでよく変な音を出してました。たくさんありますが、Squireや、Epiphoneとかが混じってます。

高いギターばかりがお気に入りではなくて、左の白いストラトは、中国製の１万円くらいのSquire Bulletですが、結構気に入ってます。右端にあるＭｅｘｉｃｏ製のFenderストラトはオーストラリアで売ってきましたが、白いのは日本に持ってきました。 リアのピックアップと、ボリュームノブだけは交換してあります。

In Perth, our house was not very small and had some space for playing guitars. I like not only the US Fenfer, but also the white one, which is Squire made in China. Just, I replaced one of pickups and the volume nob.

これは横浜で、日本に帰ってきてからです。このとき使ったアンプが確か、FenderのHotRodで、とてもいい音がしたのを覚えてます。

このときのストラトはアンプもいいせいもあったでしょうが、いい音がしました。中古で１０万円以下だったと思います。ほしい～。買っておくべきでした。

This is taken at Yokohama, after we move back to Japan. I remember that we played 2nd hand US Fender Strat with Fender HotRod amp. This guitar was very nice. I should have bought that!

オーストラリア パースの春 ２ Spring in Australia 2

またオーストラリアの春の写真。ずいぶん前の写真で当時乗っていたフォードのファルコンが写っています。

４リッターの大きなエンジンで、ドアロックはリモコンだったけれど、窓は全部手回しでした。

ガソリンは、当時は円高と、ガソリン自体もリッター７０セントくらいで、今の日本の価格の3分の1くらいの感じです。

Long time ago, that was my car, which is Ford Falcon. It has a big 4 litter engine, and has remote door lock, but all windows was not power supported. 

The price of petrol was not expensive at that time and I didn't care to buy a big car.

オーストラリアでは、パソコンサポートを自営でやっていた時期が4年くらいあったけれど、頼まれればなんでもやりました。今回の写真は日本から来た写真家のアシスタントをしたときに自分のデジカメで撮ったものです。

アシスタントとは言っても車の手配やら、運転手、現地の人との通訳とか、もう一人アルバイトを手配したりとかでした。

当時はカーナビもなく、私は土地勘もない方向音痴ときており、大変でした。

 I used to do computer support and was self-employed about 4 years. My main job was computer support, but I did anything, if I could do.

These photos are taken when I have done the assistant for Japanese professional photographer.

モデルさんをオーディションで選んで撮っていました。私の撮った写真も載せます。オーストラリアはオーバーウェイトの子ばっかり目についたけど、モデルさん達は、さすがにスマートで綺麗な子ばかりでした。ただ一緒に移動したスタイリストさんはデブおばさんでした。

The photos were a girl, who was chosen by the auditions. In Australia they have many over weight people, but all the girls, who came to the auditions are slim and also beautiful.

Only the stylist was not a slim middle aged woman.

数日間撮影は行われましたが、この日だけは他にもう一人アルバイトさんがいたので、私も少し写真を撮ることができました。

The photo shooting has been done three or four days, and only that day we got another assistant and I could have the time to take some photos.

途中で、大きなトカゲを見つけたので記念写真を撮った。と言ってもタバコのケースとか置かないと、ワニくらいあるのか、はたまたヤモリ位しかないか分かりにくいかも。

We found a big lizard and took photo. It's hard to guess how big is it. I think I should put a cigarettes or something.

この写真家というのがくせ者でした。わがままで口も悪く、ブッシュに置いてきてやろうかと思いました。

The photographer was very selfish. I should have left him in the middle of a bush. 

まあ、私も気の利かない方向音痴のおじさんで、英語もあまり褒められたものでないので仕方ないかも。

Hmm, I can understand his behaviour, because I don't have a good sense of direction and my English also not very good.

これはつい最近、トリミング直後のモクです。前にもまして、まんまる顔になってます。この写真自体もトリミングしてあります。でないとまわりのごちゃごちゃが全部写ってしまい大変な騒ぎになってしまいます。

This is taken very recently, just after the trimming. This photo also trimmed, otherwise you could see the messy room.

オーストラリアの春 Spring in Australia

ずいぶん昔の写真ですが、York（ヨーク）に行く途中に撮りました。2000年の10月です。日本と季節が逆なので春です。
This was taken a long time ago, which is October of 2000.

 

ヨークは、パースから車で1時間半くらいでしょうか。約100km離れています。
It took about 1 and a half hour to get there. That is around 100km distance.

ヨークの街です。郵便局の前でジャズをやってました。ちょうど写真を撮った時におっさんが歩いてきてしまいました。
They had a jazz festival there. This was in front of the post office.

ヨークは、パースとずいぶん雰囲気が違います。これもおっさんが邪魔です。
York is a small and old town, but very beautiful.

この日は、ジャズフェスティバルとかで、あちらこちらでジャズをやってました。右横でモクマムがビデオをとってるみたいですが、テープはどこへいったかわかりません。
There was a jazz festival and they played jazz at many places.

クラシックカーを飾ってありました。トヨタS800かな？トヨタのエンブレムだけはやけに新しいのが付いてます。ナンバーがCALIFORNIAでIT GOT MEだそうです。
I found very old cars. Is this Toyota S800?

きれいなところでした。絵葉書みたいです。
Fantastic! Looks like a picture postcard.

空も蒼く、自然が美しく、のんびりしており、こんなところに暮らしているとバカになりそうです。
It's beautiful too. Blue sky, beautiful flowers, trees and I felt the time was running very slow and was very comfortable there.

いつもお父さんの座椅子を横取りするモク。
 This is supposed to be My legless chair, but always taken by Moku.

モクのお母さん Moku's mother

モクを産んでくれたお母さん。やっぱりどこか面影があります。でも名前も分からない。見に行ったのがついこの間のようで、ずいぶん前のようでもあります。

Here is the photo of Moku's mother. Not sure the name. I feel it was long time ago, or not not so long?

今頃、みんなどこでどうしているのでしょうか。どれかがモクですがさっぱり分かりません。ひとりお母さんの足の下になったままです。みんな集まってクラス会とかできるといいと思います。

I am not sure that how they now are doing. How about to do get together.

一ヶ月後のモク。もう誰か分かるようになってきました。
After one month. It become easy to find who is who.

もう一枚。首を絞めているのではありません。
Another one. Shinya is not wringing Moku's neck.

当時小学生の晋也も大学４年になる。自分も年を取るはずである。最近は目も弱くなり、眼科のお世話になり、視力測定では老眼の検査もある始末。歯は昔から悪く、次は耳も遠くなるのでは。やれやれです。頭の悪いのは子供の頃からです。

Shinya was in a primary school. I feel getting old. These days, I've got the problem with my eye and I did the test for presbyopic eye. My teeth also not good and maybe next time I may have the problem with my ear. My head is the same. It is not so well since I am very young.

モクも今年で９歳。今は、ちょっとカットが違いますが、いつまでも子供です。白髪も目立たず、うらやましい。

Moku is going to be 9 years old, but still looks very young. I am envy him, his gray hair cannot be outstanding.

メルボルン旅行 The trip to Melbourne

ずいぶん前（2008年の7月）だが、メルボルンへ行った。パースとずいぶん雰囲気が違った。
パースからメルボルンは国内線だったけど、４時間くらいかかっただろうか。タイガーとかいう格安チケットを買ったが行きのチケットの日にちを間違えて買っており、ちっとも安くなくなってしまった。CAはアナウンスの途中でなぜか笑いが止まらなくなったりして、態度があまりよろしくなかったが、外人のお客はなぜか喜んでいた。おまけに普通の航空会社とずいぶん離れたところにカウンターがあったりして、ぶつぶつ言いながら乗っていた。帰りの便ではみんなクリスピークリームを買って持っており、もちろん自分たちも持っていた。
We went to Melbourne. It was June 2008. Long time ago. The atmosphere was different from Perth. The airline was domestic, but it took around 4 hours. We got a cheap ticket, but we bought a wrong day's one and it cost more. I felt the airline was cheap, but not very good, because the CA's attitude is not very good and the airline counter was located different place from major airlines. When we return to Perth, many other passengers have Krispy Kream Doughnut and we also got some.

航空会社はイマイチだったが、ホテルは部屋も広く、きれいでとてもよかった。メールアドレスを残していったらいまだに宣伝のメールが来る。
The airline was not very satisfied, but the hotel was good. It has big space and clean. We're still getting some  advertisement email.

どこへ行っても、食べるものは変わらない。麻婆豆腐にビール。麻婆飯が食べたかったので、別に頼んで、あとで一緒にしてしまった。日本料理は高いが、中華はリーズナブルである。
It is mapo doufu and a glass of beer. Chinese food is good, because it's not very expensive and delicious. In many cases, the Japanese food is expensive.

夜景はホテルからではありません。This is not the view from the hotel.

もう一枚。７月に行ったせいで、寒かったし、雨が多く、あまり天気に恵まれなかかったが、やはり旅行は楽しいものである。
It was not fine days, because of the season, and we have had rain, but we could enjoyed the trip as always.

これはパースで、住んでいた家の前の道を挟んで向こう側にあった公園。モクちゃんが小さく写ってます。ここはテニスコートもあった。我が家は、車が自分のと、奥さんのと、会社で与えられたのと３台もあり、テニスコートの駐車場を勝手に使っていた。広い公園はあちらこちらにあり、うんち袋も置いてあり便利だった。

These two photos are at Perth. This park was next to our home. Moku is in the middle of the photo. We got 3 cars and parked at the tennis court parking there. In Perth, there were so many parks like this and it is very good for dogs.

ドッグランではないが、よくリードを外して走らせていた。おかげでドッグランに行ったことはないが、ドッグビーチには行っていた。

This park is not a dog park, but we sometimes, let go of the lead. Because of that, we usually didn't go to  dog parks, but sometimes went to a dog beach.
